ANCW Region VII

Katrin Van Zandbergen Region 7 Director: I grew up on a cow calf ranch in south central South Dakota and was homeschooled through 8th grade. I graduated from Winner High School in 2006 and went to DWU in Mitchell for 1 year on a basketball and music scholarship but transferred to Northwestern College in IA where I graduated with an Ag Business degree in May of 2010. 

During college I met my husband Kevin and we were married in January of 2010. Right after graduation, we moved back to my family's ranch and have been working together to take it over since then. We have 3 kids Kylee-14, Kelli-12 and Cooper-9 that work alongside us as I homeschool them through the 7th grade. 

We have an annual production sale on the first Thursday of March consisting of registered Angus and Maine-Anjou cattle. We buy many of our customers' calves back to develop. We raise row crops and have a small custom farming operation. We also raise quarter horses. I have been involved in our local Cattlewomen club since 2012 and was the South Dakota Cattlewomen President 2023-24. 

I am a 4-H leader for our kid's club, coach youth basketball, play piano for our little country church and sit on the SD Beef Industry Council.  We are also very involved in our county's Farm Bureau events as well as the youth wrestling club. In our spare time we love to take the kids traveling or camping and playing board games together. I am excited to get this opportunity to serve this area as your Region 7 Director.
